Meet The Team

Douglas L. Mason, CEO and Director

Douglas has served as a senior officer and director of a number of public companies and has extensive experience in financings and acquisitions in capital markets, raising over $200 million over the past 25 years. Douglas is currently Chairman of the Board and C.E.O. of Waterfront Capital Corporation, Canadian International Pharma Corp., International Bethlehem Mining Corp., and Rainy Mountain Royalty Corp. Douglas is also a director and the sole shareholder of Criterion Capital Corporation, a management consulting company, and Chairman and C.E.O. of Mooyah Canada Franchise Corp., a fast-casual “better burger” franchise in Canada. From 1988 through 2005, Douglas served as President & Chief Executive Officer and as a director of Clearly Canadian Beverage Corporation, a producer of premium beverage products. During his 20 years in the beverage industry, Douglas built a reputation for innovation and has been credited as being one of the pioneers of the New Age Beverage category.  

Sead Hamzagic, CPA, CGA, CFO and Director

Sead has over 25 years of public practice accounting and financial management experience with a variety of public and private companies. He is on the board of directors and Chief Financial Officer for a number of publicly trading companies and as a financial advisor for a number of privately held companies that form part of the conglomerate group of companies chaired by Douglas Mason. Sead is a member in good standing with the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia.

Valerie Samson, Marketing/Corporate Services and Director

Over the past 25 years, Valerie has held Corporate Services, Marketing and Communications positions in the consumer brands, business advisory and exploration sectors, including Nabob Coffee Co., Clearly Canadian Beverage Corporation and a number of junior mineral exploration companies listed on the TSX Venture Exchange.

Clive E. Shallow, Shareholder Communications

Having passed the Canadian Securities Course and RR Registration in 1985, Clive has accumulated a combined 28 years of experience in the Canadian securities sector, with particular concentration in the mining, tech and alternative beverage industries. Prior to joining the Waterfront Group of Companies, he held a 15 year position as Shareholder Communications with Clearly Canadian Beverage Corporation, a new age beverage company formerly inter listed on the TSX and NASDAQ.

Brayden Sutton, Director

Brayden has been a successful entrepreneur and an active investor in the capital markets for over 15 years.  Brayden operates a wholly-owned merchant bank and has deployed over $100 million dollars into the cannabis sector dating back to 2013.  As well, he co-founded and served as the Executive Vice President for Supreme Pharmaceuticals, now called The Supreme Cannabis Company Inc. (TSXV: FIRE), and in 2015 became Director of Business Development for Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB & NYSE: ACB).  Brayden has had notable success finding quality companies and teams early, and he has been on the forefront of many large transactions in the cannabis space.  Brayden is also the founder of Cannabis Health Sciences Inc. and the Cannabis Health Journal, which made its debut in 1999.  He is now the President and CEO of 1933 Industries Inc. (CSE: TGIF), which owns and operates the very first licensed cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joseph Bleackley, Director

Joseph is a capital markets professional who has built and led successful teams to achieve extraordinary results. As an entrepreneur with years of in-depth business development, investing and consultancy experience, he is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer for 1933 Industries Inc. (CSE:TGIF), Managing Partner for New Raven Capital Ltd. and President of Bleackley Ventures Ltd.

Corey Larricq, Director

Corey is a seasoned entrepreneur and business owner and brings years of expertise in business operations, management and business evaluation to the Waterfront Capital Board.  As well, Mr. Larricq is an investor and active in the capital markets.
